Starting 10 June, Diamond members will be able to change flights (to an earlier or later departure) on the day of departure directly in the SAS App!

Good to know:

  • Same day change of flight applies to all SAS flights, regardless of ticket type

  • You can change a flight from when check-in opens up until 60 minutes before departure

  • Changing a flight only applies to flights on the same day and applies to all travelers in your booking

  • If you change your flight, you’ll lose all added extras e.g. pre-selected seats or meals

  • Change of flight is not possible if you already have checked in a bag

From 18 December, EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members will be able to enjoy a dedicated self-service bag drop located at Terminal 5, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, at check-in counters 89-90. The service will be available daily except between 8:50 and 12:15.

In order to be able to offer more available seats, even close to departure, all preselected Plus and Business seats will be chargeable. The update will include all SAS flights from October 18, 2023. Please note that EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members, exclusively, will still be able to preselect seats at no additional cost.

The new Boarding procedure includes 3 major changes:

1. Naming of the Boarding Groups will change: SAS will change the Boarding Groups from letters to numbers. The aim is to make it easier to hear the difference between numbers instead of letters during the Boarding Announcement.

2. Priority Boarding will be divided in two Boarding Groups: On many SAS flights the Priority group is so large, it affects the passengers experience of the Boarding process negatively. In order to minimize the group size of Priority Boarding it will be divided in two groups:

  • Boarding Group 1 > All passengers with Tier level EuroBonus Gold, EuroBonus Diamond and Star Alliance Gold

  • Boarding Group 2 > All passengers traveling in SAS Plus with Tier level EuroBonus Silver or lower

3. The boarding process will be visualized with new monitor images: We kindly ask for your patience during the first 36 hours after implementation since a high number of manual boarding is to be expected.

  • Passengers with new groups in numbers can use self-boarding device/gate reader

  • Passengers with old alphabetic groups or no group will require manual boarding

If you use the SAS APP, kindly refresh the Boarding Pass in the APP prior to boarding to initiate the new Group to be updated on the Boarding Pass.

If you’re a member of EuroBonus and you have a booked bonus trip, you have the opportunity to add flights to your existing booking. For example, if you've a bonus ticket Oslo-New York (EWR), you can add a connecting flight such as Bergen-Oslo and/or a return flight like New York (EWR)-Oslo. You’ll have to pay for any difference in points and additional taxes. A rebooking fee of 150 DKK/NOK/SEK, 15 EUR, or 20 USD per person applies, regardless of the destination.

As a Diamond member you have the option to change your flight (to an earlier or later departure) on the day of departure at no extra cost. This benefit applies to all SAS flights, regardless of ticket type. Changes can only be made at our staffed check-in desks and all SAS service points at the airport. Free change applies only at segment level and cannot be used to change your itinerary.  Standard ticket rules will apply once the scheduled departure time has passed and when changing the itinerary.

Change of flight is available from midnight in the time zone of the departure airport. It's not possible to change at the gate, through self-check-in, the SAS app, or on the website via "My bookings."

Kindly be informed that if your baggage has already been checked in on another flight, we cannot assist you with the rebooking process. Additionally, please note that certain restrictions may apply to special requests involving weapons, animals, special meals, or the need for assistance. Extra services are non-refundable if you choose to voluntarily rebook to an earlier or later departure, and we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned the same seat as originally booked on your initial flight.

Note! Due to technical limitations, the benefit does not apply at the following airports: Salzburg (SZG), Dubrovnik (DBV), Pula (PUY), Zadar (ZAD), Split (SPU) and Tivat (TIV).
